HAZARDS

Hazards
#1

This topic is for a EXV2 model built in 2008.

When the hazards are engaged while moving, the vehicle starts to slow down and continued movement will pulse with the flashes. Is this normal?

Hazards activating regen
#2

On earlier versions of the E-ride vehicle this would be normal operation. What is happening is the turn signal switch closes all circuits when hazard switch is on. As a result, the taillights are back feeding into the brake light switch circuit causing the regen brake relay to engage. In order to resolve this issue a diode can be placed in line with the brake light switch circuit. Can be seen in this diagram.

For reference this would pin# P of the steering column connector. Diode goes in line with the brown wire. Cathode towards the steering column connector. This is a standard 6 amp diode. Our part# for the diode if needed would by U2257A-N.

For larger view of the wiring diagram view this diagram.

Lastly a test that you could perform to make sure this is the issue is to unplug the regen relay. Regen relay is located inside the battery tunnel on the drivers side. Has the orange wire going to it.
